How do I know what storage unit to get?

How do I book a storage unit?
There are several ways you can book your storage unit from our website or by calling our team over the phone.
Paying for Your Storage Unit
How do I pay for my storage unit?
You can pay for your storage unit through our online payment portal. By simply clicking on the “pay online” icon on our website, you can proceed to pay for your storage unit from the comfort of your own home. We also offer autopay, which will automatically draft payment from your preferred method of payment on the first of every month.
What is the minimum amount required to move in?
Rent is prorated on the day of the month you move in. In addition, we require a one-time administrative fee and recurring insurance options. To make your experience simple and seamless, we do not require a security deposit.
Moving Into Your Storage Unit
When can I move in to my storage unit?
You can move into your storage unit during your facility’s access hours after your move in registration is completed either over the phone or online.
Security for Your Storage Unit
How do I gain access to my storage unit through a gated facility?
If a facility is gated, you will be given an access code upon completion of your move in registration that will allow you to access your storage unit under your control.
How do I keep my belongings safe from the weather?
While we work quickly to maintain and repair any damages or issues with our storage units, there are ways to provide further protection for your belongings in our units. If you plan to store temperature-sensitive items, look into our climate-controlled storage options.
Are your facilities fenced and gated?
Several of our storage facilities provide a fenced perimeter and gated access to provide further peace of mind.
Miscellaneous Self Storage Questions
What contents do we recommend not being stored?
Some contents are not suitable for being stored in our storage units. These include irreplaceable and invaluable property, objects with emotional and special value, and others. Give your local KO Storage facility a call to see what you can and cannot store in your storage unit.
What kind of lock do I need for my storage unit?
Our occupants are responsible for supplying their own locks upon move-in. The lock type is facility specific, however, most of our facilities require that you use a disc lock. There are a few facilities that require that you use a cylinder lock. Give your local KO Storage facility a call to see which lock option is best for the security of your items.
How do I discontinue my rental?
Discontinuing your rental requires a written notice of termination 30 days in advance of move-out. Please call, email, or text your notice with a planned move-out date attached.
